The basics

Presets, Slots
& IR Loading

Before you export anything, it helps to know how Flamma organizes your tones. These few ideas cover every Flamma pedal, from the FX100 and FS series to the newer intelligent FG200 and FX150.

Preset

a.k.a. a patch / a tone

A preset is one complete saved tone: amp, cab, effect modules and all their settings. On Flamma a preset is the single sound you save to a slot, then export and share.

Preset Slots

how presets are numbered

Presets live in numbered slots you step through with the footswitches. The FX100 holds 200 preset patches, the FG200 has 40 slots, and each unit has its own count.

IRs

custom cab files

A preset can use an Impulse Response, a WAV cab file, loaded into a user IR slot. The FX100 has 10 IR slots and the FG200 has 9. Keep the IR with the preset when you move it.

Good to know
Editor Software

The free Flamma PC editor connects over USB to adjust parameters, manage presets, load IRs and back up your user files.

Flamma App

On the intelligent units the Flamma app edits tones and supports preset sharing straight from your phone.

Two Generations

Older units lean on the PC editor, while newer intelligent units add the app. Match the right tool to your pedal.

What You Need To Export

Exporting presets from a Flamma takes just a few things. Get these ready first and the how to below becomes a two minute job.

1

Your Flamma device

An FX100, FX150, FX200, FG200, FS06, FS07 or another Flamma pedal. Every model with software or app support can export presets.

2

The editor or app

The free Flamma editor software for your exact model, or the Flamma app for the intelligent units. Download them only from the official Flamma site or app store.

3

A connection

A USB cable to your computer for the editor software, or Bluetooth to your phone for the Flamma app. Some units use a USB C OTG cable to a mobile device.

4

Latest firmware

Match the editor version to your firmware, and always back up your presets and IRs before a firmware update.

Download from the official Flamma site only

Always get the Flamma editor software, the Flamma app, firmware and manuals straight from Flamma Innovation, never a third party mirror. Match the editor to your firmware, and back up your user files before every update.

How To Export Flamma Presets

The reliable route works on every Flamma: the editor software over USB, or the app over Bluetooth on the intelligent units. Both let you manage and back up your presets. Here is the full process.

1

Save your tone to a slot

Dial in your sound on the pedal and save it to a preset slot, so the exact amp, cab and effect settings are stored.

2

Install the editor or app

Download the Flamma editor software for your model, or the Flamma app, from the official Flamma site. Install it and connect your pedal.

3

Open your presets

In the editor or app, connect over USB or Bluetooth and open the preset manager. Your saved presets appear, ready to manage.

4

Back up or export your preset

Use the software backup or export option to save your user files to a folder on your computer. That saved file is your exported preset, ready to store, share or sell.

5

Share through the app

On the intelligent units like the FG200, the Flamma app supports preset sharing directly, a quick way to send a tone to another player.

How To Import Flamma Presets

Got a preset from a friend, or restoring a backup? Importing is the same idea in reverse: bring the file into the editor or app, write it to a slot, and load any IR it needs.

1

Connect the editor or app

Open the Flamma editor over USB, or the Flamma app over Bluetooth, the same way as when you export.

2

Load the preset file

Use the import or restore option to bring the preset file into the software, or accept a shared preset in the app.

3

Write it to a slot

Choose a preset slot for the new tone and save it. The preset is written into that slot on your device, ready to step through with the footswitches.

4

Load the IR too

If the preset uses a custom cab, load the matching IR WAV file into a user IR slot, so the preset points at the right sound.

Match presets to the right model. Flamma presets are tied to the model they were made on, so an FX100 preset will not load on an FG200. Keep each device's files in separate folders. And always back up before a firmware update, because updates can reset your presets.

Back Up Your Presets

Flamma gives you a couple of solid ways to keep your tones safe. Pick whichever fits your setup, and always back up before a firmware update.

Back up user files

Use the editor software to back up your user files to a folder on your computer. This saves your presets in one place, ready to restore.

Export single presets

Export individual presets as files. Perfect for keeping, sharing or selling the exact tones you care about most, one clean file each.

Keep your IRs

Save your custom IR WAV files in the same folder as your presets, so a tone always has the cab it needs when you restore or share it.

Flamma Export Tips

Back up before every update

A firmware update can reset your presets. Back up your user files and IRs in the editor software before you update.

Match editor and firmware

Use the editor version made for your firmware. A mismatch is a common reason the software will not connect or load presets.

Save on the pedal first

Store your edited tone to a slot on the pedal before you back up, so the software captures the exact preset you built.

Keep IRs with the preset

A preset relies on its IR. When you share or move it, include the exact WAV file so the cabinet sounds right.
