The Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV is a 40-watt 1×12 tube combo amplifier widely recognized as the industry standard for gigging guitarists and a premium pedal platform. As the fourth iteration of Fender’s legendary workhorse, this version features highly requested player upgrades, including a modified preamp circuit for articulate overdrive definition, a revised spring Reverb for exceptional smoothness, and a lighter pine cabinet.

Previous generations were criticized for harsh overdrive; the IV generation’s modified preamp guarantees tighter note definition when pushed into distortion. Along with this, the normal clean channel provides a pristine, transparent tone serving as a blank canvas for pedals. Making this amp a great platform for pedals.
